This past March was the first time in 10 years that music fans had to go without So What?! Music Festival. In November 2017, a statement was shared on the festival's social media that they would not be hosting their annual event and instead take some time off "working behind the scenes to bring the next chapter of So What?! Music Festival to life."
With Warped Tour's Cross Country Tour closing out recently after 24 years, now is a better time than ever for founder Mike Ziemer to bring SWMF back to life. Today, the video below was posted on the festival's socials with the message: "We have seen your comments, we've met you at shows, we've received your messages... This has been and always will be a festival put on by the fans for the fans. See you soon."
Fans were quick to ask questions on Facebook regarding the return and what we can expect. One follower asked if this meant they would be returning and they recieved a solid "Yes" response from the page's admin. Another asked if they would be hosting the festival at their usual location, AirHogs Stadium in Grand Prairie, TX and founder Mike Ziemer responded directly with "I love the venue, however it doesn’t really make sense for us for multiple reasons. If we want to be able to bring you the best possible festival, it will unfortunately not be the best place for us to do so."
Dates, location and further details have still yet to be announced but fans of the annual festival can rest assured that the return is coming.
