Celebrating a new album release today is Preston Lovinggood. Lovinggood, who you might recall from his critically-praised band, Wild Sweet Orange is picking up exactly where he left off. Lovinggood's third full-length release via Last Gang Records, is his most concise, hook-laden album to date. Consequences shows similar cinematic and sustaining moods that would, in a sense, make it a break-up album.
Never one to settle for something simple, Preston persuades his listeners to dig deeper into the story line of the record, which resists a linear narrative and opts for a more complicated, cut-up approach – as two lovers unstuck in time.
At just under 40 minutes, Consequences, with its rich productions and scrupulous observations peppered through the lyrics begs for repeat listening. "Everything Will Be Okay," "Taken in the Night," "Divorce," and the beautifully orchestrated title-track are breathtaking, sweet, hilarious, hallucinatory, and devastating - often all at once.
