Switchfoot’s 14th annual BRO-AM Beach Fest is back at Moonlight Beach, Encinitas this summer. This annual community celebration includes surf contests, live music and numerous vendors to raise awareness and funds for local youth programs. The event kicks off on Thursday, June 28th at the fundraising Benefit Party sponsored by Viasat and will feature live performances by Switchfoot, Colony House, Sure Sure, and the 91X Battle for the BRO-AM winner.
The beach festival, which gathers over 17,000 attendees from over 35 different states and 10 countries, will take place on Saturday, June 30th at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA. For more information on the weekend’s full activities, please head to http://broam.org/.
The BRO-AM Beach Fest continues to be the band’s favorite day of the year when the surfing, music and local communities come together to support youth causes. The first act will be the winner of the 91X Battle for the BRO-AM contest allowing all local bands to have a chance at playing at this iconic San Diego event. Artists can enter here (http://www.91x.com/switchfoot-bro-am/). The event is free and open to the public, with special VIP packages available HERE.
There will be several surf events providing excitement and entertainment throughout the day, where you’ll see pros and amateurs compete together in various events. Surf events include the BRO-AM Team Surf Contest, where a four person team competes riding one wave regular and one wave switch (keeping it more “bro” than pro); the Rob Machado Bro Junior Surf Contest, which favors kids who have the most fun on their board; the Challenged Athletes Foundation Kids’ Adaptive Surf Series, giving an opportunity for kids with physical challenges to compete; and the always hilarious Surf Joust Expression Session, complete with battle armor and nerf weapons on soft surfboards.
