Today, fast-rising Irish pop-rock band Walking On Cars released a video for their latest single “Coldest Water,” taken from the band’s upcoming album Colours. A song that’s as deeply personal as it is instantly catchy, lyrically, “Coldest Water” reflects singer Patrick Sheehy’s relationship with alcohol, something he has never spoken about previously because, Sheehy says, “I wanted the music to do the talking and it was all a bit too fresh to be honest”.
The song captures Sheehy’s split mind: on one hand, wanting to stay clean and sober, but on the other wanting to sabotage it all. The video is an eccentric whirlwind of emotions through a range of scenes from a hauntingly, dark funeral to a lively party. The band will release their sophomore album Colours on April 12th via Virgin EMI/Play Nice.
